Why this retreat

More than a performance

Music has always been part of Camino al Sol's ceremonies. This December, that tradition expands through a special collaboration with Kapary, inviting guests to experience the living sounds of the Andes within an established five-night ceremonial journey.

This retreat brings together two traditions in a spirit of mutual respect. Alongside preparation, ceremony, integration, and time in nature, Kapary's presence creates a richer cultural experience while preserving the integrity of both traditions.

Camino al Sol's ceremonial leaders continue to guide every aspect of the yagé ceremonies. Kapary joins the retreat as musical collaborators, accompanying two ceremonies with live music rooted in generations of Kichwa-Andean heritage.

Kapary

A seven-member Kichwa-Andean ensemble

Kapary is a seven-member ensemble based in Bogotá and formed by descendants of the Kichwa-Otavalo people. For more than three decades, Kapary has shared Kichwa-Andean music across Colombia and internationally, carrying forward a musical tradition rooted in ancestry while continuing to create new arrangements for contemporary audiences.

At the heart of their work is Sumak Kawsay, or “Good Living,” a philosophy centered on harmony, reciprocity, community, and respect for nature. These values continue to shape both their music and the way they understand cultural tradition.
