Retreat prices can differ by thousands of dollars. This guide explains what ayahuasca retreats cost in Colombia in 2026, what Camino al Sol currently charges, what's included, and what to add when planning your total trip budget.
At Camino al Sol, our five-night retreats from September through November 2026 are currently USD 750. The December retreat with Kapary is USD 1,000, and the January 2027 retreat is USD 800. For the latest prices and program details, check the live retreat dates below.
How much does an ayahuasca retreat cost in 2026?
Based on our review of 11 distinct Colombian multi-day residential group programs with verifiable 2026 prices, advertised base prices ranged from USD 750 to USD 2,000, with a median of USD 1,530. This sample includes Camino al Sol. It isn't an official national average, but it offers a useful starting point for comparing programs with a similar structure.
A peer-reviewed landscape analysis published in 2025 shows how much wider the broader psychedelic-retreat market can be. It examined 298 organizations advertising 648 retreat experiences online, using data collected from July through December 2023. Among 24 six-day, five-night listings with prices, the range was USD 610-7,238 and the average was USD 2,696.
Those figures provide broad context, not a 2026 benchmark. The study included several psychedelics, countries, accommodation options, and retreat models. For a useful comparison today, start with programs of similar duration and then look at ceremonies, room type, meals, transfers, preparation, screening, group size, staffing, and integration.
What ayahuasca retreats cost in Colombia in 2026
We built a Colombia-specific sample because a worldwide figure doesn't answer what someone will find when comparing current programs here.
How we calculated the Colombia prices
We collected prices for Colombian ayahuasca and yagé programs with identifiable 2026 dates or pricing. Repeated dates of the same program counted once. When the same program offered different room types, we counted the program once and recorded the upgrades separately.
The primary comparison covers distinct multi-day residential group programs with a complete base or shared-accommodation price on a comparable accommodation basis. We kept short formats, private or one-to-one programs, private-first accommodation models without a public shared price, deposit-only listings, and listings without a verifiable total separate. No program was excluded because its price was high or low.
One program listed its price in Colombian pesos. We converted it using Colombia's official TRM of 3,202.79 COP per USD for August 30, 2026 and rounded to the nearest dollar.
This isn't an official average for Colombia. It's a snapshot of retreats with enough public information for us to verify their 2026 prices. Some providers don't publish prices online, and prices can change, so the figures represent a market sample rather than a complete picture.
Our primary sample included 9 operators and 11 distinct programs, including Camino al Sol. Prices ranged from USD 750 to USD 2,000, with a median of USD 1,530. Half fell between approximately USD 1,198 and USD 1,844.
| 2026 Colombia pricing measure | Result in the primary sample |
|---|---|
| Distinct operators | 9 |
| Comparable residential group programs | 11 |
| Lowest base price | USD 750 |
| Median base price | USD 1,530 |
| Middle half of prices | About USD 1,198-1,844 |
| Highest base price | USD 2,000 |
| Median price per night | About USD 250* |
*Seven programs stated or clearly dated their number of nights. Price per night can help compare duration, but it doesn't measure ceremony count, support, accommodation, or whether a program is appropriate for you.

Why MahaDevi is shown separately
MahaDevi's current pricing lists a seven-night standard group retreat from USD 3,350, a private cabin at USD 3,850, and a jacuzzi room at USD 4,850. Its site says most guests use private rooms, while shared rooms are only available to people travelling together and don't have a public price.
That accommodation structure is different from the comparable base/shared basis used for the primary sample, so we kept it separate rather than excluding it because it costs more. To show the effect transparently, adding MahaDevi creates a broader sample of 10 operators and 12 verified multi-day group programs. In that view, prices range from USD 750 to USD 3,350 and the median is USD 1,637.50.
Room type can change the total without changing the underlying ceremony schedule. That is why accommodation tiers are recorded as part of one program instead of being counted as several separate retreats.
Within the primary sample, Camino al Sol's standard USD 750 five-night retreat was the lowest base price and below the USD 1,530 median. In the broader 12-program view, it was also the lowest price. This doesn't establish that Camino al Sol is the cheapest retreat in Colombia. It shows that our current standard price sits at the lower end of the comparable 2026 programs we could verify.

What the standard retreat price includes
The current standard five-night program includes:
- Three guided yagé ceremonies.
- Shared accommodation at Yaogará Natural Reserve.
- Meals prepared for the retreat process.
- Transport from Medellín or the airport.
- Preparation guidance before arrival.
- Application and health-information screening before confirmation.
- Support during ceremonies, circles of word, and integration during the retreat.
- Plant baths, cleansing work, and body therapy where included in the schedule for your dates.
- Aftercare and continued contact with the Camino al Sol team.
Private accommodation isn't included in the standard shared-accommodation price. A private cabin may be available at additional cost, depending on the dates and availability.
Costs to plan for separately
The fee is only one part of an international trip. Depending on your itinerary, plan separately for:
- Flights or other travel to Medellín, Colombia.
- Accommodation and meals before or after the retreat.
- Personal transport outside the included transfer.
- A private-cabin upgrade if requested and available.
- Travel insurance, entry documents, transaction fees, and other personal expenses.
For a current Camino al Sol price, check the live dates and written inclusion list before sending money rather than relying on an old social post, cached result, or third-party listing.
What changes the price of an ayahuasca retreat?
Two prices are useful to compare only when the programs cover similar things. Look at:
- Country and location: local operating costs and the transport needed to reach the site.
- Duration: a single ceremony, a weekend, and a five-night stay are different offers.
- Number of ceremonies: check how many are included in the full fee.
- Accommodation: shared rooms, private rooms, hotels, and remote lodges come with different costs.
- Meals and transfers: confirm which meals, pickup points, and return transport are included.
- Group size and staffing: ask for the maximum participant count and who is available before, during, and after ceremonies.
- Preparation and integration: clarify what support is offered before arrival and after the final ceremony.
- Remote logistics: domestic flights, boats, long private transfers, or extra hotel nights can change the trip budget.
- Special programming: guest facilitators, longer schedules, and different accommodation arrangements can change a specific program's price.
- Luxury amenities: private suites, resort facilities, excursions, and spa services can raise the price without changing the core ceremony schedule.
Price tells you what a program costs. To consider whether it is appropriate for you, look separately at screening, leadership, group size, support, preparation, and integration.
Retreat fee versus total trip cost
There is no standard rule for what a retreat price includes. Check each provider's written details rather than assuming two similarly priced programs cover the same things.
| Expense | How to treat it in your comparison | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Program fee | Start with the required payment | Nights, ceremonies, and required fees |
| Accommodation | Confirm rather than assume | Shared or private, and which nights are covered |
| Meals | Confirm the exact dates | Arrival day, departure day, snacks, and dietary needs |
| Transfers | Check both directions | Airport, city, terminal, and return transport |
| Flights | Add separately unless stated otherwise | International and domestic travel |
| Hotels outside retreat dates | Add when your itinerary requires them | Early arrival and departure timing |
| Private room | Treat as an optional upgrade unless included | Availability and additional cost |
| Travel insurance and documents | Add according to your situation | Policy, visa, entry, or document requirements |
| Personal expenses | Keep separate | Purchases, tips, extra activities, and local transport |
A useful total is:
required retreat payment + travel to the destination + accommodation outside retreat dates + excluded transfers + meals not included + required extras + optional upgrades + personal trip expenses
How to compare two retreat prices fairly
Put both programs into the same worksheet:
- Record the total required payment.
- Record the duration and number of ceremonies.
- Add accommodation, meals, transfers, and other essentials that are excluded.
- Note whether the room is shared or private.
- Compare the maximum group size and the roles available during ceremonies.
- Compare preparation, screening, integration, and aftercare.
- Review the deposit, balance deadline, cancellation terms, and transaction fees.
Dividing the fee by the number of nights can reveal major differences, but it isn't a quality score. Two programs with the same daily price may include different numbers of ceremonies, different accommodation, or different levels of support.
Price is not the same as value
A lower price may reflect shared accommodation, simple facilities, proximity to transport, or fewer resort-style extras. A higher price may reflect private rooms, remote logistics, a longer stay, additional staff, or luxury amenities.
Compare what is included, what is excluded, and how the program is structured. If keeping the total budget manageable is your main concern, read our guide to finding an affordable ayahuasca retreat.
Questions to ask before paying
Ask each provider the same questions:
- What is the total required payment, including fees?
- How many nights and ceremonies are included?
- Are accommodation, meals, and transport included?
- Is the advertised accommodation shared or private?
- Who leads the ceremonies, and who is there throughout the night?
- What information is reviewed before participation is confirmed?
- What is the maximum group size?
- What preparation and integration support are included?
- What happens if the dates change or you need to cancel?
- Are any activities, transfers, or upgrades charged separately?
Read the refund and cancellation policy before sending money.
Price and screening are separate decisions
Camino al Sol reviews application and health information before confirming a place. Screening can identify reasons to pause, decline, or ask for more information, but it can't remove every risk or predict how someone will respond.
Read the safety and medical guidelines before considering dates. Don't stop or change prescribed medication to attend without speaking with the clinician who prescribed it.
Sources and evidence limits
- A landscape analysis of psychedelic retreat organizations advertising online, PLOS ONE, published in 2025 using data collected from July through December 2023. It supports the broad pricing context above, not a 2026 ayahuasca-only or Colombia-only average.
- The Colombia comparison uses current 2026 program pages for the 11 programs shown in the sample table. Operator booking pages were used where they showed the current price more clearly than the operator's main page.
- The COP conversion uses Colombia's official TRM open-data record for August 30, 2026.
- Camino al Sol prices, dates, capacities, inclusions, and payment terms come from the live retreat records and current operational documentation. The live dates take priority when details change.
The comparison records what providers advertised. We didn't independently verify delivery, quality, safety, or outcomes. The complete normalized dataset, structural exclusions, and calculation output are preserved in the site's research archive.
Your next step
If you're still comparing programs, start with the Colombia retreat choosing guide. If the current Camino al Sol dates, price, and inclusions fit what you're looking for, apply for screening. Applying begins a review; it isn't an automatic booking or payment.
